Friends of Monona Bay Cleanup

The second Saturday of every month a group of people convene for two hours in Brittingham Park to pick up trash along the Monona Bay Shoreline.

The Friends of Monona Bay (FOMB) Monthly Shoreline Cleanup was inspired by the annual Take a Stake In the Lakes shoreline cleanup event. We started in August of 2004 and have being going steady and strong every month since. In 2008, we had a total of 211 volunteers who collected 195 bags of trash, which equates to 500 volunteer contact hours. Our numbers have shown an impressive increase each year. For 2009, through the August 8th cleanup, we have had 139 volunteers and collected 84 bags of trash, which equals 367 volunteer contact hours (2004-Present).
